Educate and Motivate Consumers to Take Action


Share information about Fair Trade and sustainable business with customers nationwide
Serving more than 25 million cups of coffee in 2004, Pura Vida reaches customers across the country on a daily basis. Through cups, merchandising displays, counter cards, broadcast email, in-box literature and a network of "campus champions" at more than 50 colleges, Pura Vida is educating consumers on the importance of Fair Trade, sustainable business, and the needs of the poor. We seek not only to educate, but also to motivate consumers to take action and create good through volunteer work, charitable donations, and their purchasing.

Solicit donations to fund charitable programs
Pura Vida customers are invited to support our charitable programs with tax-deductible gifts. Our coffee business attracts thousands of values-driven consumers and introduces them to our work and charitable mission. Many of these customers become donors, providing additional resources to directly sustain our programs that help at-risk children and families. Pura Vida has received more than $400,000 from individuals in charitable donations, and more than $750,000 including in-kind, corporate and foundation gifts. Create volunteer opportunities both "north and south"
Our unique model has the ability to mobilize a large number of volunteers, ranging from college students, marketing experts, IT specialists and short-term mission teams. Pura Vida has sponsored more than 150 interns and volunteers who have collectively provided more than 4,000 hours of charitable service.
